Founded by 2 friends with a hobby to create, MainSoftworks is a small indie tech company with a primary focus of creating entertaining (and funny) games with a classic and unique independent feel. A breath of fresh air in the swamp of basic - all "plays the same" games. MainSoftworks strives to create different (sometimes buggy) games with a care free art style and story.
The Classic duck theme became evident after the release of our first clicker game - QuackQuack! From here a collection of somewhat family friendly duck games followed. Ducking Scary - A different take on the horror genre released next, a graphical showcase for PC and Mobile alike! Becoming our first cross-platform release. Recently, the release of Duck Em Up! Became the most recent game in the Duck-Themed trilogy!
"I'm the lead programmer and manager for MainSoftworks so spend a lot of time doing that. Also despite the stereotypes of CS students, I have a serious Gym addiction. I should study more but I'm busy making duck games and other dumb stuff for this funny company"
"Other than the main addictions to drawing and modelling the famous rubber ducks, I take a large interest in video games as a whole. But also love going out into nature and enjoying the small simple things. I work out a lot yet have a desire to always be eating."
The companies fist official product was the LBOCS, A project by Josh to experiment with his new-found love of coding. The joke of making the "pickup line app", and fact he made a working app while at school became quite the news story of the campus, everyone wanted to see the product and use the pickup lines... However it wasn't published. This fuelled the fire to publish the app under the company name MainSoftworks and thus... This thing started. The rest is history.
After LBOCS launched, the next mission became clear on a average summer walk through a field. A duck clicker game. Here, in the field, Ethan joined as head artist and Idea-generator. Having most of the content, art and general ideas for the game in the first week. Development started and the release was constantly delayed due to their ongoing ideas and content goals growing. The game launched on the 22nd of November 2023 and was a massive achievement at the time!
From here, ideas kept coming. Ducking Scary (PC and Mobile) became the first 3D and cross platform game, QuackQuack had an official watch face for wear OS, Portable Pre launched in multiple languages. More recently Duck Em Up launched on mobile, being the first game only using assets made by us. No freeware*, and QuackQuack got official Google Play Games PC client support!
More recently, We are experimenting with making games in different genres and styles. To really find what fits us as a company. Due to this we will continue to create a wide range of products, covering a wide range of platforms with unique spins. However themes may change drastically.
